The Herefords are now on the Hill here at the National Western Stock Show, and the ring is filled with colorful red and white cattle. It also has students in maroon jackets assisting ringside, prepared to be the ring help wherever needed. These are the junior board members of the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA).
Taylor Belle Matheny is the NJHA Board Chairman this year and is ringside, assisting with the show.
“The NJHA is a great way for youth members to get involved, compete in contests, meet friends, and there’s countless opportunities to have a path towards success in their future,” Matheny said. “We really believe what we’re doing here at the National Junior Hereford Association is setting our juniors up for a lifetime of success.”
Junior breed associations like this are built to develop leaders, and those elected to serve as board members have taken full advantage of the opportunities laid out for them.
