If you’ve been to a national stock show with Angus cattle, you’ve seen the kids in green jackets and khaki pants assisting in the show ring. The bright green jackets surely catches your eye, but what you might not see are the several past NJAA board members helping ringside.
Casey Jentz, a 2004 to 2006 NJAA board member and a current American Angus regional manager for Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin, said being around Angus producers at work and while on the junior board allows for the opportunity to work hard and meet great people.
“The Angus cow is what we do, but at the end of the day it’s a people business,” Jentz said. “I think we work with the best group of people out there. Angus producers have tremendous character. Being able to work with good people day in and out is one of the best benefits I have in my job and on the junior board.”
Other previous board members in attendance at the National Western are Alan Miller, an American Angus Board Director, and Alex Tolbert, American Angus regional manager for Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
Be sure to catch more of the green jackets at the upcoming National Western Angus Female Show and the Carload Show.
