John McCurry is no stranger to the National Western.
Hailing from Burrton, Kansas, McCurry attended Butler Community College then Kansas State University and was a member of the Reserve National Champion Senior Livestock Judging Team in 2003. He owns and operates McCurry Angus Ranch with his wife and three children. McCurry Angus Ranch is a commercial cow operation that is striving to produce bulls for their annual bull sale in March, where they will market 200 head through the sale and private treaty
McCurry and his family have been exhibitors at the National Western for several years. Some highlights include: Champion Angus Heifer Pen in 2016 and Reserve Champion Angus Heifer Pen in 2017.
In addition to exhibiting cattle at the National Western, John has judged several breeds of cattle at the National Western in previous years, both on the Hill and in the Yards. These breeds include Angus, Limousin and Hereford. Today, he added Red Angus to his National Western judging résumé.
