Today marks the completion of the 80th consecutive 4-H Catch-A-Calf program, National Western Stock Show’s longest running program of practical beef cattle management. This year, 28 outstanding youth in the program caught their calves, and were in possession of their animals for a total of 244 days.
Congratulations to Kaitlyn Wolters of Atwood, Kansas, for having the Grand Champion NWSS 4-H Catch-A-Calf and to Porsha Binning of McDonald, Kansas, for claiming the reserve title.
Both calves now qualify for the NWSS Auction of the Junior Livestock Champions held on Friday, January 20th.
A special shoutout to the state of Kansas for being home to four out of the top five exhibitors this year.
